The Rhode Island Apple Mac Museum is an idea of a new museum that features the early beginnings of the Macintosh Computer. At this time these machines are housed in a storage facility just waiting to get out and be displayed. Matthew Bergeron is the curator and has spent the last few years completely restoring the collection to near mint condition. The machines have also been restored to actual working functionality.
Unfortunately until the organization is able to receive funding and securing a location to host this collection it will remain in storage.
Anyone interested in getting involved or volunteering is welcomed to contact Matthew Bergeron at mbergeron@riamm.org We also are looking for any donations such as space to exhibit the collection and funding to enhance the collection.
We hope that when this museum becomes a reality that it can serve the general pubic as a computer museum as well as be educational.
Some featured Apple Machines include:
Lisa 2, Macintosh Portable, Powerbook 100, Powerbook 540c, Powerbook 550c, SE/30, SE, 512K, Color Classic, Laserwriter, Laserwriter II, PowerMac 5400 (black), Macintosh TV, and more!
